Napoli sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli has admitted he regrets missing out on Erling Haaland when he opted for Borussia Dortmund. Before ending up grabbing Victor Osimhen to stand as a spear instead
, Osimhen moved from Lille to Napoli in September 2020 with a value believed to be up to 75 million euros. A month later, Haaland moved to Borussia
Dortmund, and Giuntoli admits missing out on the Norwegian striker was his biggest regret. Causing them to turn to grab Osimhen instead, who is considered to be a player at the same level
“A regret? Haaland, we already have a contract with Salzburg where we will pay the full release clause of 25 million euros,” Giuntoli told UFABET Sport.
“But Haaland chose Dortmund. We put him and Victor as our main targets, so we turned to Victor instead. We saw them on the same level.
” Poli himself went on to win Kwicha Kvarutskalia. Came last summer for just 10 million euros and has become one of Europe’s top form players.
“We had negotiated with him when Ancelotti was still with us, but the €30 million demanded by Rubin Kazan stunned us
.” Cha goes to Dinamo Batumi, so we try again ′
′ Spalletti is involved in the development of the team as well. He made an assessment and made a decision. There was a good understanding, we never made a unilateral decision.”
